Winter Sun
Winter Sun
Winter Sun, a public artwork and temporary bar, commissioned by King’s Cross is a collaboration between artists James Bowthorpe, Kim Coleman and LYN Atelier.
Winter Sun took inspiration from our need for light in the winter, and the winter solstice. The installation is a circular structure, 7 metres high by 18 metres wide among the trees of Granary square, encircled by twelve glowing ‘suns’ emulating natural light.
The installation is a steel structure supporting an inflatable roof with layers of black scaffold wall sheeting, gabion cages, and plywood.
